Our Purpose:
To support New Zealand families to become their best, free from family violence.
We do this by working in partnership with families and communities, promoting social justice, encouraging healthy relationships and providing services that rebuild families and support them to recover from violence.
Our Guiding Principles:
- Recovery is possible for everyone
- Gender inequalities and social injustice are the principle causes of family violence and compromise the health, dignity security and potential of all New Zealanders
- The safest place for women and children should be their own home. We need to remove the violence from the home, not the women and children
- Children need continuity. Services should be offered within the context of a family’s healthy, or potentially healthy, relationships, which we should actively support families to strengthen
