Community Services
The community outreach services are for women and/or families that are requiring our support outside of our safe house; this is now the bulk of our client work. For women we can support with gaining protection orders, getting onto benefits, housing, referrals to support networks, and practical assistance. We also have education sessions on domestic violence and support you make the changes that you identify you want.
We also have our child and youth services available to you and your children which also includes advocacy, education and practical support.
Our community services are free and are available to all women and children who meet our criteria, we are flexible and will meet you were is it safe, we provide short and long term support in the community depending on what your needs are.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you have to be out of your abusive relationship to access community services?
You can still be in your relationship while your workings with us, a large proportion of women are still in their relationships and don't necessarily want to leave but always want the abuse to stop. - How often do we meet?
This is negotiated between you and the worker; we are flexible and will always consult with you about the support you want, some women only want to meet once, others for up to six times, this is fine and if you finish with our support you can access us again at any other stage.
Support and Education Groups
CWR is approved by the family court to facilitate Women's Support and Education Programmes and Children's Tamariki Programme's. These groups run for ten weeks for 2 hours each session. They are free to you but if you have a protection order we can access funding through this. We provide transport to and from the children's programme if you are unable to get there and we support you to access money for petrol costs and childcare through WINZ.
Services to Women
CWR also provides services to women to support them to meet their goals and become or to remain having abuse free lives. This is achieved through education, support, practical assistance and advocacy. We operate from an empowerment model which has it's origins in a feminist philosophy of providing and facilitating choice and supporting the client through challenging systems which can act as a barrier to women living abuse free lives.
