Each year, Women's Refuge supports over 7000 women and 10,000 children throughout the country, both in the safe houses and within the community. Volunteers help us undertake this important work by
- Asssisting with tasks that are vital to support the agency functions
- Becoming our advocates regarding the promotion of safety and non-violence for all women and children
- Raising awareness of issues involving discrimination towards women in society.
Currently we look for volunteers to assist in our work in non-clinical ways - this means that you would not work directly with clients but would assist the Refuge with other tasks that are essential to our work e.g. collecting children from and returning them to school following their weekly programme session; helping with administrative tasks; collecting in-kind donations, general maintenance (cleaning, gardening etc) at our Safe House etc.
