Activate your community and help raise money for those living with violence

Do you have a great fundraising idea? Does your school or workplace want to do something to give back to the community? Do you have a group a friends that want to raise money but don't know where to start?

 

Make your own fundraiser:

Use our Aviva Activators website to create your own donation platform to share with friends and family. All funds raised go directly to Aviva's family and sexual violence services.

Fundraising Raffle
Raffles are a quick and easy way to raise up to $500. The amount you can raise depends on the number of tickets you sell and the price per ticket.

To get started:

  • Collect prizes: Ask friends and local businesses to donate prizes or vouchers.
  • Get tickets: You can buy raffle books at most stationery stores.
  • Sell tickets: Sell tickets to family, friends and co-workers.
  • Draw a winner: Donate the funds raised to Aviva.

Magic Movie Squares
A fun twist on a classic raffle. Use a magic movie squares grid and have people buy their favourite movie on the grid. Once the grid is full, photocopy it, cut out the squares, and draw a winner.

Garage Sale
Hold a garage sale or sell items online to raise money. Sell your own items or ask friends to donate things they no longer need. Another option is to take your items to a local consignment store that sells quality second-hand goods. You can then donate your portion of the profits to Aviva.

Event-Based Fundraising
Host a quiz night or bingo night. Several venues in Christchurch can run the event for you, and all you need to do is sell tickets. You can also find online resources with everything you need to host a quiz or bingo night yourself. Check out our Fundraising Toolkit for more ideas.
